Ismila Stone Age

The Ismila Stone Age Site is an impressive landscape of eroded sandstone pillars where archaeologists have identified one of the most important Stone Age finds ever. The tools found there - hammerstones, ax heads, flints and scrapers - are estimated to be between 60,000 and 100,000 years old. Ismila is definitely worth a visit and it is easily accessible from the town of Iringa.
